The village of Seelisberg lies 630 metres above sea level and is 15 minutes' walk from the historic Rütliwiese. The youth hostel is set amidst fields and woods and from here visitors can enjoy an impressive view of Lake Uri. The renovated one-room house is one of the oldest buildings of its kind.

A secret tip for romantics

Rütli Wiese, the Tell Museum in Bürglen, the mineral museum in Seedorf, the National Archives in Schwyz, the Turmuseum in Schwyz and the Italredinghaus in Schwyz. Nature: the Lake of Seelisberg is home to the red-footed crab. Mountain flora reserve. Numerous, beautiful hiking routes through unspoilt mountain scenery.
